Reasons for Changing the Dice in Craps

In the game of craps the players bet their money versus the house or casino. They bet on the result of the dice roll. There are two dice employed for this game. The dice in craps is very important because the rolls tell who becomes the winner.

The dice used for craps is made for precision. They have clean finish. They are transparent in colory. They are translucent because they have been polished with sand paper. The pips for the craps dice are made by drilling them. They are also painted with the same paint that was used for the dice. Casino dice are visibly bigger than the ordinary dice. It has sharper corners. The edge of a new dice will all be sharp too.

Casinos can choose to change their dice when they want to. This happens when a player in craps starts to reap a lot of winnings. The supervisor in charge can be superstitious about it and change the dice. The player usually fails to recognize that the dice is new. The supervisor usually sends the new dice when the player has completed his roll. The dice is given to the other player to shoot which makes it harder for all the players to notice the change.

This is not just the reason why a casino can switch the dice at one point of the game. The following are common reasons as well:

1. The casino suddenly realizes that the edges of the dice are already damaged. This takes place when a table does not have a game usually towards the end of one shift or at the start of it. They do this as soon as the new dealer comes in to board his shift.

2. The change can also happen when the pit attendants audit the money.

3. Casinos can also change the dice when the players request for it however the supervisor can also choose to also not grant the request.

4. The house can change the dice when the player loses one die since it bounced off from the game table. This rarely happens though.

Every set is accounted for with numbers and each of the dice has a logo of the company. It can also have an imprint stating the place where the casino is located. Dice that are no longer to be used are imprinted in the middle with a circle. A newly bought dice will have a smooth surface. It's edge will also be very sharp.
